Tasting Notes:
Intense and profound minerality. It's aromatic
profile is deeply complex, with beautiful toasty
notes from the barrels as well as subtle hints of
herbs which complement the soft floral and
citrusy aromas of the wine perfectly. It offers
plenty of body without seeming heavy, and
shows superb concentration. The finish is
wonderfully complex, elegant and slightly salty.

Soil: Granite base with lines of sandy (70%) and clay (30%)
Vineyards: Vines with 6 years, with 5000 feet per hectare, located at 500 m at see level.
Kind of pruning: Guyot
Grape Varieties: Field blend – Encruzado, Cercial, Bical, Verdelho, Málvasia, Terrantez, Cachorrinho,
Douradinha, etc…

Vinification:
The weather conditions of the viticultural year 2015 were very favourable, with sun, a warm temperature and low humidity, allowing a homogeneous vegetative growth. One of the particular features of this year was the vineyard ability to remain hydrated during ripening. In late August, early September, the basal leaves still remained green and moist, with hydrated berries and a thick, firm skin. After harvesting and a maceration period of 24 hours, followed a slow two month fermentation period (inox and 2nd year used 400L barrels) followed by another 3 month batonnage (lee stirring in 5th year used 400L barrels) period. After batonnage we bottled the wine and the aging is in bottle. We just release the wine after two years of aging.
